When Daddy is away...there is always FaceTime

The benefit of having a professional poker husband is that his schedule is pretty flexible.  When he's home, he is the homemaker and takes care of everything from grocery shopping, laundry, making dinner, etc.  We are still trying to figure out how to prep for when he's not home.  Because then I'm doing all the homemaking and I have a high stress job in the oil & gas industry.  Luckily I have family close by so a lot of times I mooch off of my sister-in-law and parents and have weeknight dinners with them.

A few weeks ago our son (we'll call him little b) had a Thanksgiving luncheon at his daycare.  It was a very simple affair where they invited parents to the school during the student's regular lunch time.  They served turkey, stuffing, mashed sweet potato.  The problem was that Daddy was on a poker trip and not home.

FaceTime and Skype is awesome.  I used to use Skype but since Apple introduced FaceTime and I am married to Apple products (iPod, iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro), FaceTime is our choice product now.  So now that I have plugged Apple products here's my point of this post....

So during the Thanksgiving luncheon, I pulled out my iPhone and called Daddy.  Viola, Daddy was at the Luncheon with us.

So the point of this post is if you don't have an Apple devise, you need to get Skype so that you can communicate with your poker spouse.  This isn't just for the poker professionals with kids.  I say this because I don't enjoy talking on the phone.  This is probably because I'm a multi-tasker.  When I FaceTime, my husband can see when I'm preoccupied with something else and we can see each other's expression.  I also like texting because I can respond when I'm available.  Our son loves it..he calls it glass Daddy.

Thanks again for reading...until next time.
